Through COVID-19
The Covid pandemic has been a difficult time for choirs all over the world.
Rising to the challenge, the Berlin Children’s choirs sang together in online ZOOM sessions during lockdowns, had rehearsals in the park, made recordings at home, did virtual concerts, and even performed outdoors in the snow!
The children kept on singing, even when they had to be in front of a screen to see their fellow choristers; or do another Covid test to come to choir; or were stuck at home sick.
Congratulations to all the choir children and their families – for your perseverance, support and love of making music in spite of everything!
In 2022, things started to return to normal : the choirs had a hugely successful summer concert in Kreuzberg, where all the children received their certificates of participation.
The annual performance at the “Very British Christmas” Weihnachtsmarkt in Charlottenburg was a true highlight, especially after a two year hiatus from that tradition.
Please do not come to choir if you or your child has a positive Covid test, or any symptoms, and as always: keep on singing!
